A hand-made Japanese Oribako box with silk-printing, gold foil stamp and original yaekazari band (made in Japan), containing the full set of four decks of hand-drawn art playing cards. Set in display, the cards reveal a connected image of a mouse delicatessen hovel through the seasons. Follow the story of four groups of mice battling for their philosophies. Printed by Legends Playing Card Company (LPCC), the intricate cards are edge-printed and come in a finely laser-cut tuck box.
First funded on Kickstarter, this project was nominated for Deck of the Year. Through the project, an endangered Elephant was adopted through the World Wildlife Fund and 52 trees were planted. The 100% paper cards are made from sustainable forest sources and special soy ink was used. Packaging makes use of recycled and recyclable materials as well as bubble wrapping made locally from sugar cane.
What’s more, a portion of all profit was donated to ARK, a charity that helps rescue, care for, foster and rehouse abandoned and displaced animals across Japan. Through this project we rescued over a dozen cats from a hoarder in Japan.
